What’s “Satellite Hall”
The Satellite Hall connects seamlessly with the existing Terminal1 and Terminal2 through an underground MRT system, mainly realizing the transit function of the airport and serving the main terminals like a "satellite".
Save space and facilitate boarding
The Satellite Hall is shaped like the Chinese character "工". It consists of two central halls S1 and S2, and is connected by a corridor. Such a design can provide 86-125 aircraft positions of various types, which not only increases the arrangement of near aircraft positions, but also reduces the walking distance of passengers and provides a good travel experience.
"Wide Angle" glass curtain wall
In the new Pudong Airport Satellite Hall, glass curtain walls fully display the beauty of firmness and softness! The Satellite Hall's main building is surrounded by 6km of glass walls, giving travelers a panoramic view of the airport.
Rapid and efficient airport MRT rail transit system
S1 of the Satellite Hall is connected to terminal T1 through the MRT western line, while S2 is connected to terminal T2 through the MRT eastern line. The MRT rail transit system is similar to the Shanghai metro. The 24-hour operation greatly improves the boarding and landing experience of frequent travelers.
"Ready to fly" large span triangular roof
The steel roofs on both cores of the Satellite Hall are triangular in shape and look from a distance like two stealth fighters ready to fly. The interior is free from large load-bearing columns blocking the line of sight, so the vision is very wide and the visual sense is very stunning, which can help passengers relieve the fatigue of the journey to some extent.
Not only that, the Satellite Hall in every detail has shown concern for the passengers, including the doors! Considering safety, convenience, energy saving and design, ASSA ABLOY is of course the best choice.
Fifteen ASSA ABLOY SL500 Slim sliding doors have been installed at the Satellite Hall entrance and VIP hall entrance. They are aesthetic and functional, and equipped with long, thin aluminum frames. Greater load-bearing performance can improve the stability of the door, so that the operation of the doors become more stable, and prevent derailment or other hazardous situations. Safety and convenience are very important factors for travelers with luggage!
One ASSA ABLOY SL500-C has been installed at the VIP hall entrance. The arc door has a larger opening than sliding door. The anti-clamping force sensitive function enables the door to slow down and”feel”before closing when encountering obstacles, ensuring the safety of passengers. So passengers won't have the trouble of luggage being clamped, and the passage will be more convenient!
One hundred and twenty-five ASSA ABLOY SL500 sliding doors have been installed in the toilets for the disabled and baby care rooms, and twelve in the family bathrooms. The installation of ASSA ABLOY SL500 in the toilet can fully reflect its excellent additional sealing performance, which make the space behind the door more private, reduces the inelegant sounds and odours. At the same time, infrared anti-pinch-light curtains are installed on both the inside and outside of the SL500, which solves the safety problems such as wheelchair access and elderly people passing through. ASSA ABLOY considers many inconvenience factors to bring passengers a safe and convenient toilet experience.
One ASSA ABLOY SW200-2 swing door has been installed at the MRT station. Stability is better, which is perfect for the more crowded MRT stations. A wide open angle can ensure the flow of people in the narrow passage, with the fire function level of SW200-2, the safety performance is beyond doubt!
ASSA ABLOY can be seen everywhere in The Satellite Hall. ASSA ABLOY provides passengers with high quality security and great convenience at the same time.
