The depot is part of an integrated transportation hub providing access to Doncaster's Frenchgate Shopping Centre, the main attraction of this successful urban renewal project.
A main priority of the project's design was to provide convenient, safe entrances for bus pas-sengers carrying goods purchased at shopping mall, as well as enabling wheelchair-friendly access to passenger waiting areas. Additionally, the doors needed to provide energy savings for the climate-controlled depot building and protect passengers from both the weather and traffic exhaust fumes.

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems' expertise in transportation applications made us an ideal partner for the Doncaster Transport Interchange project. In working together with the pro-ject's engineers, ASSA ABLOY sliding door systems were determined to be the optimal solution for the bus depot due their reliability and safety.
The clean lines of the ASSA ABLOY sliding doors also complemented other elements of the broader Frenchgate Centre urban renewal project, which includes an integrated train station and car park for visitors to the nearby city center, in addition to the shopping mall.
